Clear Creek in early Spring.
Note the crystal clear waters!
Clear Creek, as seen from the bridge in the park in Buffalo.
In the Spring, the snow melting in the mountains causes the creek waters to rise and occasionally there is some mild flooding in areas of town.  The creek runs across the town from west to east.
This is the first exit off of Highway 90 to get to Buffalo, Wyoming as you are heading west.
This is the view of Buffalo about 30 miles east of town.  Here you are situated in the grasslands where sagebrush is abundant.  The Bighorn Mountains can be seen for many miles away.  Here I am facing west.
The park lies just west of the downtown area of Buffalo.
Here you can see the downtown buildings.  There are only two streetlights in Buffalo.
This is that lake I photographed earlier in this blog, with the full moon.
This is a view of the town of Buffalo facing the northwest.  The lake is southeast of town.  The red gravel is scoria (cinder rock).
Buffalo has many Cottonwood Trees, which are native to Wyoming and also are Wyoming's State Tree.

Okay, - here is what the tree looked like BEFORE I tweaked it.
But I really love to photograph this type of tree.  Each Cottonwood seems to have a personality unique to itself, and they have great beauty if one looks closely.

Buffalo and Johnson County has a lot of Choke Cherry Trees.
The berries are edible and are used to make juice, jelly, wine and syrup.
A shallow lake on edge of town with a full moon.

Okay, I photoshopped the full moon - but it sure adds to the effect!!
This was an early snow we received in early October a few years ago.
Photo was taken on the Clear Creek Trail.
In the town of Buffalo, facing west.  Some of the streets are hilly.

In the Spring, this is what the view looks like heading south on Highway 90 as you are getting close to Buffalo.
Approaching Buffalo from the east on Highway 90, this is the view you have -- Buffalo lies straight ahead in the center of this photograph, right at the base of the Bighorn Mountains.

The red rocks and gravel are scoria (cinder rock).

Okay - this is what it looked like BEFORE I tweaked the photo!

Buffalo has a nice large park to explore which merges with the Clear Creek Trail - a trail that goes all the way to the base of the Bighorn Mountains, and follows along Clear Creek.
